Hi!!
I think your Elizabeth Brophy is the sister of my great-great grandfather Patrick Brophy, born March 24, 1861.
My great grandfather was named Joseph Patrick Brophy, born 1911. He immigrated to Ontario, Canada as a young man and had to change his name to O'Neill, which was his mother's maiden name. This was because his older brother, Thomas, had come before him and had done that to avoid some trouble he was in. My great-grandfather started going by Patrick O'Neill.
I have a really neat picture of Patrick Brophy's son, Timothy. I guess that would be your great-grandmother's nephew. He died in France in 1915 during WWI. If you send me an email at Christine.pertschy@gmail.com, I can send it to you.
