I am descended from Jane McCann who married John Gilliland at Rich Hill on 16 Nov 1848. Interested in contacting other descendants still living in Armagh. Janes parents were Andrew McCann and Margaret Bradshaw, and Johns parents were William Gilliland and Mary Ann Anderson

    Thank you very much for your query to Ireland Reaching Out. Have you looked into the land records for your ancestors? Try looking at Griffith's Valuation (1848-64) or the Tithe Applotment  Books (1823-38). Do you have a more precise location in Armagh? Hopefully, you will be able to find some information on the land records. This could then give you a better lead to find out more information, such as birth records.

  • My Bradshaw family is from Drummand Townland, Mullaghbrack Parish, County Armagh.

    My great grandmother, Margaret Bradshaw, married William Fenix in the Richhill Presbyterian Church in 1892

    Margaret's parents were James & Margaret Bradshaw

    James parents were George and Jane from Louggall, County Armagh.  they had a daughter Margaret.

    I have a bit more but am still tracking this family.  We could be related.  Hope this helps and I really wish I knew more.
