I'm researching Michael Joseph Walsh of Inistioge. He was born about 1835 and married Ann McHugh, perhaps of Galway. His parents may have been William Walsh and Eleanor Barron. He died in 1884 in New Orleans, LA, USA where he had lived since he was a teenager. I would love to verify this information and find out if there are still relatives in Kilkenny. This is my husband's family. - Lee Ann Walsh

Hi, I have information regarding Walsh families in Inistioge.
My family are from a farm called Ballygubb there and whilst one of my relatives carried out a search they have the following: William Walsh born 1927 died 1931 - married Bridget Walsh and had children James 1863, William 1864, Michael 1866, Thomas 1868, John 1870, Patrick 1872, Ellen 1874 and Richard 1876, Peter DOB Unknown to me. of these Peter and Michael went to Boston to settle, their families descendants are in Boston and Seattle. I have letters written by those two back to their family from the states. In the search of Inistioge records it seems there were no other in this period of that name. It would be interesting to know if this is of any link to yours.
