Seems Barbara was probably nearer 61 when she died rather than 75 but that is a large difference.

There's a problem here.

Alumni Dublinensis contains only this information:

"Pack, Bartholomew, Pen. (Dr. Ellison), Jan 27, 1787, aged 17; s. of Richard, Clericus; b. Co. Carlow. B.A. AEst. 1791.  M.A. AEst. 1823."

  I'd have to guess that most of the rest comes from some of my own internet posts, or from info from me that a cousin incorporated into a tree.  Certainly the info on their son (my GG-GF) comes from his NYC death cert!

 Rev. Bartholomew was Rector of Ettagh until 1849. How could his "relict" have predeceased him?

I saw your comment on Facebook by chance and have just connected it to this post. Apologies that the information is not new or your own - we are all just volunteers on the ground and not professional genealogists.

The records available via the IFHF are pretty much the most extensive parish records available in Ireland so it's unlikely there's anything more definitive but a professional genealogist would be the best route to go to confirm this. 

Ireland Reaching Out is not a professional genealogy/research service but rather our community volunteers (where already set up) offer a personal connection to your ancestral parish, extending beyond, or researching what is perhaps not available through records, i.e. finding the family headstones, the ancestral land/house, living relatives and above all, hosting returning visitors to their area to show them the landmarks connected to their family history.

To answer your original question "Is there a way to check up on the transcription?", I will try to get someone local to Ballyboy to check the inscription in the coming weeks.

  That was indeed my question. IFHF does not reply to e-mails --- or not to mine.

  The date I was given is impossible if she was a widow, so I hoped that the inscription, or a better transcription, is still available.
