Sincere gratitude to those that have made this site available.

My McQuillan line has submitted dna and is a descendant from Niall of the Nine Hostages, as per dna markers provided by the Dublin University submission.

From the dna we have found two lines connecting our McQuillan tree, one in America and the other in Australia, my line is spread between Northern Ireland and myself in Canada.

Our last paper trail is James McQuillan b 1835 Banagher married Jane Allen Jan 21, 1864 Bellaghy Presbyterian Church, Bellaghy

The had 11 children:

James b Jan 15, 1864 Bellaghy d May 3, 1865 Bellaghy

Johnnie b Feb 12, 1866 Bellaghy

Thomas b April 8, 1868

John b Aug 5, 1870

Martha b Feb 5, 1876

Isabella b Nov 10, 1878 Killyberry

Robert b Feb 26, 1881 Killyberry d Feb 26, 1881 Killyberry

David b Feb 26, 1881 Killyberry d Feb 26, 1881 Killyberry

John b Mar 6, 1882 Bellaghy      ( my great grandfather )

Robert b June 16, 1884

Agnes b 1888 Bellaghy

DNA results shows another James McQuillan b 1820 Banagher is a match

he marries Matilda Arrell b abt 1823 July 25, 1921 Glasgow Scotland

Another DNA match shows an Alexander McQuillan who marries an Margaret O'Kane and after spending some time in Belfast Ireland, moves to the United States.

What is interesting about this line is that, it is both Catholic and Protestant.

I have actually done a big McQuillan tree with as many on it regardless of my exact connection. I would be happy to share it, anytime.

all the best to you and yours and continue the quest
