Trying to trace birthplace of my husband's 2nd great-grandfather, James Kinsella, born in Queen's County in 1795 according to his gravestone. He is buried in Dubuque, Iowa. His wife's name was Anastasia and I think her maiden name was McEvoy but that is unproven. Thank you

Hi Janet
There are a few public member trees on ancestry that have James's marriage to Anastasia McEvoy 11 feb 1839 in St Columban Riviere do Nord Quebec
I couldn't find a birth/baptism record for him on www.rootsireland.ie/ or www.irishgenealogy.ie
Rootsireland has 4 baptisms about that time but none in Laois.

A couple of the ancestry trees have James's parent as William Kinsella & Martha Leonard but I could not find this record.
The Tithe Applotments (free online) 1823-37 have 4 Kinsellas in Queens
Similarly Griffiths Valuation 1848-64 (free online) has 70 Kinsellas in Queens
The irish census of 1901 & 1911 (free online) have 104 & 127 Kinsellas in Queens respectively.
The Irish phone book 9eircom) doesn't seem to be working at the moment but it would be interesting to see if there are still Kinsellas in Laois today - who may know of your husband's family.
