Hello. I have traced my 2nd great grandmother, Bridget Kelly, and found she was baptised in the RC parish of Tubber in 1829. I am coming to Ireland next week and will be in the areas of southern Westmeath and Laois in the Camross area where Bridget's future spouse was baptised. I am interest in learning if there are any remnants of the churches her family might have attended, or other points of interest to be sure to see.
Thank you.

Visiting soon - looking for things my ancestors might have seen
Hello Pat Jensen,
The principle two church sites pre 1850 were Ballagh Church and Moate Priory. The street view of the sites are detailed below.
A further church site which has a more recent church built upon it is the Church of the Holy Family which would have been in the Parish of Clara and is in Co Offaly.(This is close to the townland Tober)

Pat McGreal - thank you again for your assistance of July 2. I have just returned home and had a delightful trip made even better by your guidance to the location of the Ballagh Church ruins. Our driver did not have GPS, so we got close, then met several very kind helpful people who directed us to the location. We also visited St Thomas the Apostle chuch in Rosemount.
Do you know anyway that I can figure out which chuch my Kelly's would have gone to? We know they were in Westmeath, and the baptisms are in the Rosemount/Tubber records. Since the baptisms were from the 1820's St Thomas the Apostle was too late, so I am thinking they went to the Ballagh Church, then to St. Thomas the Apostle for a short time before they emmigrated about 1850.
