Thomas Francis Burke and Annie Donohoe

My Great Grandfather-- Thomas Francis Burke-- died 30 September 1932, in Laurens, Iowa. His obituary says that he was born at Tullamore, Kings County on March 16, 1865. "He came to America 55 years ago (circa 1877) to relatives at Brooklyn and Troy, New York. Shortly after he went to Chicago to join other relatives and friends." On February 15, 1890, in Chicago, " he was married to Annie Donahoe, a childhood friend in Ireland, and they immediately established a home in Laurens (Iowa)."

Thomas' obituary states that at the time of his death, he had two sisters residing in Ireland. 

My Great Grandmother, Annie Donohoe Burke, was "born at Tullamore, Kings County, on April 20, 1870."

Annie came to America circa 1888, to visit relatives in Chicago. Annie died December 31, 1928, in Laurens, Iowa. I believe her father's name was Patrick Donohoe, and her mother was Mary. Annie had three sisters-- all lived in America: Mary Ann (married Verhoeven); Lucy (married Feery) and Nellie. She, also, had a brother, Peter, who remained in Ireland.

I know nothing more of Thomas' family than what is written here. I would love to know more about my Great Grandfather-- with whom my mother, her sister and parents lived with during the early years of her childhood. I am, also, eager to learn more about my Great Grandmother's family. I will be traveling to Ireland in October, and would love to visit where Tom and Annie were from-- and, perhaps, meet relatives.
