Patrick Sweeney, son of Michael Sweeney and Bridget Lowry, was born in Tuam, County Galway, Ireland on 15 March 1864 (source: Ancestry.com "Ireland, Select Births and Baptisms, 1620-1911" collection). After arriving in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States on 27 May 1884, Patrick married Catherine ("Kate") Hennigan of Kilgarvan Parish, County Mayo, Ireland on 6 November 1889. Patrick and Kate had the following children: Michael Joseph Francis (1890-1970), Annie (1892-1968), Adele Regina (1895-1998), Catherine (1896-1975), John Thomas (1898-1936), Marguerite (1900-1973), Marie (1902-1984), Helen (1905-1981), Edward Aloysius (1906-1983), and Louise Gertrude (1909-1995). Patrick passed away in Philadelphia on 25 February 1938 (source: Ancestry.com "Pennsylvania, Death Certificates, 1906-1963" collection). He is interred at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
