Ellen Gregory had a short life, dying at the age of 34 from a brain aneurism. She left behind her husband John Stewart and five children; Samuel , James, Rowena, David and Eleanor. She was married at the Ballymacarrett Presbyterian Church on 29 Sep, 1883. She died at 48 Belvoir St in East Belfast and is buried in the Comber Cemetery. Ellen was the daughter of James Gregory ( a weaver) and Margaret McNeilly. The McNeilly family owned several houses in Newtownards.
