Hello,
I am looking for information on the above couple. I believe John was born about 1806 and his parents' names were Patrick Hiney and Catherine Geogheghan (aka Gagen). John and Ellen married in Tullamore about 1828. John died on 16 July 1887 in Campbelltown NSW Australia.
Ellen was born around 1805. Her parents are Edward Mooney and Elizabeth Warren or Wearen. Ellen died on 3 June 1874 at Campbelltown.
John was recruited into the 17th Regiment of Foot on 13 April 1827 in the Leicestershire Regiment. He boarded a convict ship "Lady Feversham" as part of this Regiment and sailed from Portsmouth for New South Wales, Australia arriving in 1830.
Thank you

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I searched on Roots Ireland (subscription site) and could not locate the marriage record. You did not mention the religious denomination but RC and Church of Ireland records are on Roots, however, the RC records have gaps for baptisms and marriages. Here is a link to the RC register. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0933 You can see that marriages start back up in February 1827 after about a four year gap. Possibly there were married just before 1827 or Ellen's parish was no Tullamore and her parish does not have records back to 1827-1828.

Hello,
I am still trying to find my Irish ancestors. Had a look on the website above but could not find a record for John Hiney and Ellen Mooney.
My husband and I are coming to Ireland in August and hope to visit where my ancestors came from. So any further help would be gratefully appreciated.
Kind Regards
