Miles O'Neill was the son of James and Jane (Patchell) O'Neill of Arklow, County Wickow. The family moved from Ireland to Quebec City in the 1840s. He died at age 30 on June 20, 1866. He was buried in Mount Hermon Cemetery, a Protestant cemetery in Quebec City.

Died - In this city, on the 20th inst., Miles O'Neill, stevedore, aged 30 years and 4 months, eldest son of James O'Neill, Esq., attorney, of Arklow, county of Wicklow, Ireland.
