James had a smallholding of 6 acres in Knockatogher in the 1821 census. Shortly after this one of his sons (who was shown as insane in the census) murdered James' mother in law and it seems that they moved away soon after this. The only feint clue I have is that the family may have moved to Cappataggle.
His son, my gr.gr.grandfather was married in London in 1851 and put down his father's occupation in 1851 as publican.
