Mary Ann CUMMINS was born in Blessington, County Wicklow, IRELAND, the eldest child of James CUMMINS (b 1832 d 26 Jan 1902 South Australia) of Blessington and Teresa CONNOR (b 1829 d 5 Dec 1867) of Knockatillane.
Mary Ann had four siblings (all baptised in Blessington parish)-

Mary Ann's sister, Julia, died in Blessington in 1864, and their mother, Teresa, died in 1867 when Mary Ann was only thirteen. They are buried at Burgage Cemetery with Mary Ann's grandparents- Peter CUMMINS (b 1797 d 22 Aug 1859) and his wife Mary NN (b 1795 d 20 Nov 1852).
Mary Ann moved to Dublin and lived at Lower Baggot Street. She married Michael CROWLEY on 13 June 1875 at St Andrew's, Westland Row.
Mary Ann, her husband, Michael CROWLEY, her father, James CUMMINS a bootmaker, and her siblings, Bridget, Peter and Matthew, sailed to Adelaide, South Australia, per the ship GOLDEN SEA arriving on 30 March 1876.
