My grandmother, Margaret Doyle was born in Ballylinan in1871 and baptised at The Sacret Heart Church in Arles on August 20th, 1871. Her parents were John Doyle and Margaret Foley. I can't find any info about Margaret Foley in the parish registers for Kildare and Leighlin---no date for her baptism. Although her marriage to John Doyle is recorded as happening on November 16, 1862. Who were her parents? I'd like to add to the family tree by adding Margaret Foleys parents to it--I'd like to know Margaret Foley's mother's maiden name.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Can you tell me where the marriage was conducted? Marriages ususally were held in the bride's parish and likely her baptismal record would be there also.

Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. In the parish register for the parish of Arles, Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin the marriage of Margaret Foley and John Doyle is recorded as being held on November 16, 1862. When I found that they had been married in that church, I thought that it would have been easy to find Margaret Foley's baptismal record. She was married in that church so she should have been baptised in the same church. So far I can't find her. This is also the church where all their children were baptised. I know nothing about the Foleys other than Margaret's name, it's a missing branch on my family tree.

Right! No baptismal record in Arles. She may have been from a neigboring parish and then moved to Arles.
