  • I happen to be researching my Smyth family line from County Meath.  Would you happen to have more details about John Smyth's parents and associated parish?

  • John was the son of Bryan aka Bernard Smyth (1829-1910) who lived in Drumone and Rose Reilly  (1848-1923) who was born in Belleek. Bryan Smyth's parents were James Smyth and Margaret Connell.

  • I am researching an Elizabeth Smyth b.c. 1760 m. James Farmer - 2 known/accepted children, Nicholas & Honor.  Nicholas m. first (1803), Margaret Moyne d. 1825 and m. 2nd (1839), (drumroll) Rose Reilly.  For Elizabeth Smyth, James Farmer, & Nicholas Farmer I found in the Clonmellon Parish Records what appeared to be multiple individuals with the same name so my tree in their line is highly subjective.  We've also never found anyone else related to them, which is very frustrating.  We are definitely seeking accurate information.  I, and several other relatives, are DNA tested with several companies & registered on GEDmatch.

  • My Smyth relatives were centered in Drumone and Moylagh Parish. My Rose Reilly was born in Belleek in 1848, daughter of Patrick Reilly and Margaret Kavanagh and she married Bryan (aka Bernard) Smyth in 1874 in Oldcastle.

  • Anyone that would like to compare DNA for Smyth family line, please email me directly to share website/kit/username info at mallenmccancestry@outlook.com.  I can't get past 2x great grandparent level on this line and believe only way to make any headway is through DNA (with family tree review).

  • pmcdouga - I don't have enough information to rule in or out your relatives.  Some of this family lived in the Oldcastle area for a while, I believe.

Karen, I emailed you my DNA info.
