Mary O'Hara was born in County Clare about 1830.

Her sister Margaret was baptised in Killaloe, Ogonnelloe Parish, in 1833 and her parents are listed as Dennis O'Hara and Honora Toohy.

Their residence is given as Ballybrohan.

Mary O'Hara and her sisters Margaret O'Hara and Winifred O'Hara emigrated to Hartford Connecticut prior to 1850 when Mary was married 9 May 1850 to Nicholas Freeman at St Patrick in Hartford.  (Winifred O'Hara married Cornelius Ryan, Police Chief of Hartford, and Margaret O'Hara married Edward Botelle). Mary O'Hara's husband Nicholas Freeman was born in Upper Canada about 1827, but his mother's birthplace is listed as "Ireland" on the 1860 Census - she was born about 1795.

Mary O'Hara and Nicholas Freeman had 7 children that lived to adulthood and all of them were baptised at St Patrick.  Nicholas Freeman died in 1868.  It is believed he was a City Councilman in Hartford in the 1860s.  Mary O'Hara died in 1873.  They are buried in St. Patrick Cemetery in Hartford.
