Any chance Michael Anthony Carroll was related to William Carrol, also of Kildorrery? William Carrol married Kate Jones, daughter of Michael Jones (b 1777) & Margaret Hannon (b 1781).

The only child of Anthony Carroll and (unknown first name) O'Mahoney, he emigrated to New York in 1846, settling around Canandaigua and married Mary Moore in 1853. In 1856 the family moved to Sauk County, Wisconsin where he had purchased 168 acres in 1849 and farmed there until his death in 1913 without ever returning to Ireland.
