Catherine Fitzgerald was born on 1 Mar 1858 in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
She was baptised at St Mary's, Clonmel, on 3 Mar 1858. Her parents were Thomas Fitzgerald, 17th Regt of Foot, and Johanna Meehan.
She came Melbourne with the Bourke family from Limerick in 1863. Her half sister, Bridget, was living in North East Victiria, where Catherine joined her. She married Frederick Tanner on 8 Feb 1875 in Wangaratta. They had 14 children. John Thomas, Mary Cecilia, Johanna Theresa, Frederick Joseph, Daniel Michael, William Paterick, Bridget Philomena, James paterick, Francis Joseph, Elizabeth, Beatrice, Vincent Anthony and Thomas Joseph.
She died on 1 Nov 1908 in Greta, Victoria, Australia. She and her husband Frederick Tanner are my great grandparents.

It may be that Catherine Mary Fitzgerald's father, Thomas is a brother to Patrick Fitzgerald (1816-1856). Patrick was also born in Tipperary.
Patrick's daughter, Margaret Ellen Fitzgerald is my great grandmother. She was born in 1843.
I am doing some research to see if there is a connection.
