Mary Callahan was from Ahalahana and was the (eldest?) daughter of Thomas Callahan and Margaret Dore. Her younger siblings include Catherine, Margaret, Johanna, Michael and John J. Callahan.
Mary married John Behan(e) from Bunagara in Listowel and by 1855 the couple had settled in Syracuse, NY. They raised 11 children on the city's North side but only two married and had families of their own. Mary's brother - John J. - also settled in the area and other relations resided in the city for a time.
Mary (Callahan) Behan is buried in a family plot in St. Agnes Cemetery in Syracuse.
