Maurice (Morris) was born in the Enniscorthy area between about 1837 and 1841. His parents names are believed to be Lyons Conolly and Mary Farrel.
On 19 Sept 1863 he married Elizabeth (Betty) Kelly, daughter of James Kelly and Ellen Murphy, in Marshalstown, Ferns, County Wexford. The witnesses to the marriage were Denis Doyle and Margaret Cowman.
Sometime between 1867 and 1870 he and Ellen emigrated to the United States with their two sons Laurence and James. They settled in Bennington, Vermont where he worked as a section boss for the railroad. He and Elizabeth had eight more children before she died in 1891.
Morris married a second time in 1892 to Ellen Graves and they had three daughters.
He died 30 June 1905 in Bennington. He is supposed to be buried in the Catholic cemetery there but no stone seems to exist. I would love to find out if he had any siblings and if they stayed in Ireland or also came to the U.S.
