Catherine "Kate" Deasy was born in January 1826 at Riverstick, County Cork, Ireland, the daughter of Timothy Deasy & Mary Murphy. Her first marriage was circa 1846 to Timothy Looney. They had two daughters. Julia Looney/Lowney was born in December 1846 and Mary was born in June 1849. Dad Timothy died before 1855 when girls were quite young.
On 3 February 1855, Kate married Timothy "Thade" Lynch in Tracton Parish. They had seven children between 1856 and 1868.
On 13 July 1876, Mary Looney married widower Denis Miskell / Mescall.
In May 1879, Kate and Thade emigrated to Canada with six or seven of their children. Thade died in Toronto on 10 February 1895 and Kate died on 29 May 1897.
