  • McDonagh family history has it that Edward's cousin was executed by the "Brown Coats" (presumably the Black and Tans). Was this the famous Thomas McDonagh (1878-1915)?

    Thomas McDonagh's family apparently came from Kilglass. If it is Kilglass, Sligo, then it is 25 km from Dacklin. As for Kilglass, co Longford, Julia and Edward were married for no apparent reason in Longford. In either case, the geography matches up. A speculative link would be that Edward's father, John (1818-1898) was a brother of Thomas's father Joseph (1935-1894). Does anyone have any ideas or leads?
