This is my third great grandfather. Do you have any further information on the children he had from his first wife. Their daughter Catherine is my ancestor.

Born in Upperchurch to Cornelius Ryan and Catherine Kelly, he married Margaret Ryan (Sean Eamon) in Drom church, on 5th Feb. 1854. She was born on 1st June 1833 and died on 10/01/1871.
He remarried another Margaret Ryan (Moneen) from Turaheen, in Clonoulty church, on 28th October 1871. She was born in 1849 and died on 20th Feb.1907. Death, as recorded on her death certificate, was due to 'Senile decay' !!!
He was a farmer, and also a hedge school master. He had a total of 15 children, some of whom emigrated to Australia, and US. His house in Glenough is still standing today.

Hi, yes I have quite a lot of information on Michael Ryan Raymond, and all of his children. Your ancestor, like her father, was married twice and had sixteen children at the time of her death. At the age of 74 she travelled to US, to meet with some of her children there. She was extremely popular in her locality, and had a huge funeral by all accounts. Are you a member of either the Kennedy or Gleeson families?

Yes, I have your great grandmother Catherine (nee Ryan) who died in 1954, and your grandmother Mary, born 6th August 1911. So, other than some birth dates for your grand uncles and grand aunts, nothing more recent than that. Was there something specific you were after? Let me know and I will do what I can. Michael Ryan (raymond) was my gt gt gt grandfather. His daughter Catherine married William Kennedy who subsequently died and Catherine remarried into my Gleeson family. Martin was the brother of John Gleeson from Lowerwood Drombane. Martin married Catherine Ryan after William kennedy diedand John Gleeson married Margaret Kennedy the daughter of Catherine Ryan (raymond) and William Kennedy. Although not blood realtions on the Ryan and Kennedy sides these 2 marriages threw considerable confusion into and amongst people tracing the Gleeson Family history for many years and months.
I have extensive research into the American side of the family but none on the Australian side. Do you have any pointers?
