Daniel Dougherty and his wife Margaret immigrated to the US aboard the schooner "Jubilee", in 1830. They immigrated with their son Hugh (age 1) and Daniel's younger brother John. Daniel was born between 1800 and 1810 - as were Margaret and John. The family immediately settled in Paterson, NJ and he lived there at 61 Pine Street until his death in 1874. Daniel and John were both employed as machine shop "polishers" , and all of their children were either working in flax mills or the railroad shops as "machinists".
Also living immediately close by and immigrating slightly before Daniel were brothers James, Hugh, Robert, and William Dougherty- their decendents connect to my DNA, so I assume these were Daniel's siblings.
There is also a "naturalization" document for Daniel's brother, John Dougherty, which places his birth as Antrim, and this document has casued confusion as my DNA is connecting to many other Dougherty DNA hits from Manor Cunningham and Pluck Donegal- actually, almost all of Dougherty connections are between these two areas.
Any help would be greatly appraciate and any questions are more than welcomed.
