Hello,
I also had a relation from this area called Thomas Donohue - the brother of my gr gr Grandmother Bridget Donohue. In 1849 he and his brother Patrick were charged with killing a sheep in nearby Peterswell and he was transported to Tasmania c. 1852. His brother was eventually allowed to return to his home after a few years in prison (National Archives). Despite a fair bit of research over the years, I have never been able to establish if he was connected to the family of Thomas Donohue in the photograph. It would be interesting to know if there is anyone out there who may have heard about this event.
Regards,
Deirdre Carroll, Dublin.
