My great-grandfather, Daniel O'Connell, was born on May 22, 1866 in Shanagolden. His father was Daniel O'Connel, and he was a baker from at least 1854-1871 in Shanagolden, as listed on the birth records of all the children. His mother was Bridget Kent. Daniel O'Connell senior and Bridget Kent married in Kildimo in 1853 and had 10 children in Shanagolden from 1854-1871. Bridget Kent O'Connell died at the age of 46 in 1876, leaving 10 children, 6 under the age of 14.
