James (Ross) Murphy born 1820, baptised at St Paul's Arran Quay 21 September 1820, married a Mary Razon 18 October 1856 at Dublin Castle and died 26 February 1859 at Ottawa, Illinois, USA.
They are understood to have died in an accident in Ottawa. They had a son James who was born there in 1856 and who died in Dublin Ireland on 24 July1926. James was involved in the family business Ross & Co of Ellis Quay. In the 1901 census his surname is properly given as Ross-Murphy.
