Born in Drumcanon Co Cavan in May 1863. Came to America as a young man. Worked in the textile mills in the Rhode Island area then was transferred to Nashville, TN and eventually married Harriet Mauldin and ended up in Bessemer City, NC where he passed around 1942. John and Hattie had 2 children, Rosella Riley and James Riley 1905 and 1907 consecutively. James had 3 sons and one of them was my father Harold Riley.
