There is a gravestone, a small celtic cross, marking the graves of Maurice, Ellen and three of his children who predeceased their mother in the graveyard at Knockpatrick about a mile north of the village of Shanagolden. This is recorded as being erectewdd by their oldest son John, who worked as a detective Sergeant in the Garda in Dublin at the time.
