JAMES CLUNE (1856–1915) son of Patrick and Mary Kelly grew up in Cloontismara, Inagh Co. Clare.
In 1879, ages 26, James married a neighbour, ANNE HYNES (1861–1943, daughter of Thomas Hynes and Mary McNamara) of Cloontismara. Her 12 brothers had gone to America and Anne who was the only one left in Cloontysmarra. She needed a man to farm the land, so James Clune married into the Hynes farm here. His brother Thomas took over the Clune family farm.
James Clune and Anne Hynes had 13 children, most of whom emigrated to the US.
