Born in Mullinahone in January (13?) 1841. Ellen Vaughan came to the U.S. sometime between 1858-1860 and lived in New York City for 4 years. She met her husband Patrick Walsh and married him there in 1864, before they moved to Bloomington, Illinois together in 1865 on the day that Abraham Lincoln was assassinated (April 14, 1865). They had 7 kids together, but only 3 of them were alive at the time Ellen (Vaughan) Walsh died.

Thank you for this information. Through DNA testing, I found recently I was related to a Vaughn who showed Drangan and Slatterys in his family tree. My Slattery ancestors left Drangan for America (NY then Ohio) in the1848-1855 timeframe.
