I have quite a lot of information regarding John Haughey and Anne Scott family after they moved to Glasgow/Edinburgh. I'd appreciate any information regarding their earlier life in Donegal. Anne Scott was born in Glasbolie, Drumhome but I have nothing regarding John Haughey's birthplace or parents. According to rootsireland, Anne and her siblings were baptised Church of Ireland and her 1805 marriage to John Haughey also took place in Church of Ireland, Raphoe.
John Haughey died in Edinburgh 1850, before statutory registration began so there is no death certificate. Though i have his burial record, there is no mention of parents so I have no details to help trace his birth records, if they still exist.
Their family, all born in Scotland, were baptised in RC church which make me wonder whether the transcripted marriage information on rootsireland is 100% accurate. I think I recall reading that the transcripts, where denomination is concerned, may show both parties as C of I? Is that a possibility? I also think I read C of I church records for Raphoe are still with the parish church. If this is the case, will they show more information than appears on the transcript?
Other than that, any advice on where to look next (if there is any where else to look) would be very welcome.
