This is not an easy site to access . The cross is at the top of a very overgrown hill .
The bodies of those who died in Westport workhouse were buried in a quarry. The burial mound is marked as pictured here.
Westport Workhouse is no longer extant. The site is now a housing development called Cathair na Mart estate.
