The first ever Carlow Arts Festival was held in 1979 and takes place in early June each year.
Since then the Festival has gone from strength to strength, marking itself as the first big cultural event of the Irish summer.
The Festival showcases the best of live music, perfomance, and visual art from Ireland as well as abroad.
In 2019, the Carlow Arts Festival celebrated 40 years since it was first established.
