Adella Rice Fenton. We believe she was born Bridget Fenton. There is a bit of mystery around her birth. We've cross-referenced and are sure of her family (father Maurice David Fenton 1825-1885) married to Elizabeth Rice 1831-1910. Siblings = Margaret b1862, Mary Josephine b1865, James b1866, Thomas b1867, Ellen b1868, Elizabeth b 1870, and William b 1872.
She moved to Maine probably around 1900 and was married by 1908 to to an Englishman named Augustus Nelson Mudge. They had seven children and eventually ended up in New York City.
In the US she listed her mother on 2 documents as Mary Grant and her birth as 1884. We believe she made herself younger on US documents to make herself more eligible for marriage, but there could be other explanations (perhaps she was an illegitimate child... her baptism papers are in Mitchelstown whereas the rest of her family was born in Kilworth... and yet her mother is still listed as Elizabeth Rice. She was almost certainly not born in 1884 as shown on the US papers.
