Fr. Laurance Galligan was the curate of St Patrick's Church Maudabawn. He was the son of Eugene Galligan and Bridget Galligan (née Conaty) and born in Kilnaleck, Co. Cavan. According to the book Diocese of Kilmore Bishops & Priests 1136-1988 by Francis J. MacKiernan, Bishop of Kilmore, Fr. Galligan was ordained in Maynooth on 20 June 1897. He was the curate in Killinkere in 1897, Chaplain in Ballyjamesduff (March 1898), Lavey (September 1898), Shercock (1902), Drumkeerin (1904), Maudabawn (1909), PP Drumreilly Lower 1923. He died on 28 March 1933 in Derradda, Co. Leitrim.
