Pats Bui Sullivan was born in Cloghanecanuig,St.Finan's Bay, Co. Kerry in 1848.

He was son of Patrick Senior Sullivan and Mary O'Leary. His family home was on the road to The Glen Pier, so it was natural that he spent lots of his youth around boats. He married Mary Connell from Portmagee in 1872 and they had nine known children. All went to the States except his daughter Ellie and son Mike.Pats was a great fisherman and had his own small boat as well as being of The Faha Seine Crew.

He was also a farm steward in Ballynabloun from circa 1890 -1912.Pats was a very good story-teller and Tadhg O Murchu, the folklore collector recorded Pats on the edifone in 1936 and came back again in the early forties and wrote down  several of the stories which are now kept in U.C.D.

Pats died on 26th Jan.1944 aged 95 years.
