Francis, wife Jane, and four sons arrived in Montreal in 1822. Two sons died in Montreal in 1823. Seven more children were born in the Ottawa, Ontario area. There is a significant amount of information in "Descendents of Francis and Jane (Dagg) Abbott" by Gwendolhyn I. Brouse.
Francis married Elizabeth Jane Dagg on 14 Oct 1814 in Modreeny, Tipperary. They had the following children in Cloughjordan: Thomas (1815), Richard (1816), John (1817), twins James and Francis (1822). This family migrated to Canada in 1822.
The difficulty has been finding Francis' parents due to lack of records.
