Worked as a farmer, farmers wife, and midwife in her local community of Melton. Hannah (known far and wide as Grannie Watts) delivered hundreds of babies - perhaps around half the population of Melton - and opened the first private hospital in the district. She is remembered still in her community today at Hannah Watts Park
