I have William Shaw and Elizabeth Sarah (Betty Sally) Shaw nee Marshall in my tree. Son Thomas married Catherine Doran (born Gibraltar) and had 2 children - William Thomas 1881 and a daughter (name not known )in 1882. I suspect that after the birth of the daughter Thomas went to USA possibly Pennsylvania or Philadelphia but unable to confirm. His son William Thomas known as "Frederick" or "Fred" travelled out to see his father several times during his younger years. He stayed and married in Belfast and raised his family there. His children did not go to USA permantly and it is thought that they remained in Tamlaght and were looked after by other family members. The problem is that Shaw is a very common name!!
Parents William and Elizabeth Sarah (Betty Sally ).Married Catherine Doran in Glasgow 1880. Had girl child registered in Ballydawley, County Derry 1882. Vanish from records. Assume emigrated but unable to find to where. Any help gratefully received.

Hi, I'd be delighted to hear anything you have on Frederick Shaw. He married Ellen Jordan in 1903 though their eldest boy Joseph Thomas Shaw (Tom) was born in 1901 and they had 5 firls who all went to England and married there. The two boys , Tom and Edward stayed on in Belfast. Fred himself worked as a Plater's helper in Belfast Shipyard and died in 1965 . Ellen died in 1930 from Breast Cancer and Fred remarried a woman named Sarah Murray. There were no children from the second marriage and Fred and his wives all share the same grave in Belfast's City Cemetery
