Newmarket Fergus (Clare) County Clare
Dromoland Castle is a spectacular building, constructed in the Gothic Baronial style, located in Newmarket on Fergus in County Clare. It is the historic home of the O'Brien family who are believed to have lived there for eight generations.
The castle as it appears now was built in 1835, but this is merely the final manifestation of centuries of reconstruction at Dromoland. The original castle is thought to date all the way back to the 15th century when the site was occupied by a much simpler Tower House.
Today Dromoland Castle is a luxury hotel, spa, and golf course which welcomes visitors from all over the world.
