Hannah Ahearn-Lattimer was born circa 1887 in Rathkeevin to James and Mary Ahearn nee Tobin. She had 4 surviving siblings, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Sisters: Margaret born circa 1881 who married a man from the locality called Thomas Murphy, born circa 1879. Margaret was an assistant housekeeper in Barne Estate before she married. Bridget born circa 1889 who also married a man from the locality, a Thomas Burke born circa 1876. Brothers: James Ahearn born circa 1896 who went to Dublin and had a family there. Patrick Ahearn 1878-1950 who served in the Bore War and WW1. Patrick remained in the Rathkeevin area and reared his family with his wife Ellen Murphy 1891-1977. All 3 Ahearn sisters emigrated to America and were initially based in the Rhode Island area. It was in America that Hannah met her husband Mr. Lattimer. I'd love to hear from any descendants of Hannah's or the Ahearn/Tobin family. Or indeed any descendants of either the Burke or Murphy families who were located in the Rathkeevin/New Chapel/Barne area.
