Place of migration
Migrated to/Born in USA
John O'Hara (~1782 Ireland - 20 Mar 1846 Eddyville, Kentucky, USA).
There was a family history written in the 1970s that said that John came from Londonderry, Ireland at the invitation of Gen James O'Hara (1752-1819, Quartermaster to Gen Washington and Fort Pitt businessman). After a few years in Pittsburg, PA John made his way to Kentucky.
Londonderry may be just a disembarkation city and there as never been a proven familial connection between John and James, who was known to go back to Ireland to recruit workers. Any information about each of these OHara lines would be appreciated.
