My 2nd great grandfather is Michael Conroy. My research tells me he was born in 1795 in Queens County Ireland, married Anne Delaney, born in 1796, and fathered children 4 children in Ireland: James (born 1837), Mary Anne (born 1839), Daniel Michael (born 1940) and Elizabeth (born 1842, my great-grandmother). I have found records of Anne and her children in the United States but have been unable to find any information on Michael. Is there anyway I can determine (1) their wedding date and (2) if Michael died in Ireland. I have been unable to find the immigration records of Anne and children but have found death an burial records.
Thank you for any advice and/or information you can supply!

Welcome to Irelnd Reaching Out!
I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not locate the marriage record anywhere in Ireland. I also did not locate any of the baptismal records for the children using the parental names you provided. Is you information from family records?
Civil registration of deaths started in 1864. If Daniel Michael died before 1864, there are very few church death records available.
Let us know if you have more information on your family.

I have the death certificate of Michael and Ann's son, Daniel Michael Conroy. It identifies his birth as December of 1840 (I posted the wrong year in my original message) in Ireland. His parents are identified as Michael Conroy and Ann Delaney, both showing Ireland as their birth place. Daniel is also the subject of noted people from Van Wert County, Ohio.
The 1860 US Census shows Ann as a widow, aged 60, living in Delphos, Van Wert County, Ohio. Three of her children and 2 grandchildren are listed as living with her. The birth place of her children is listed as Ireland and of her grandchildren, Ohio.
That, I am afraid, is the sum total of the documents I have. I am not even sure that Queens County is the county of origin. That information came from a document that has since been rejected.
Thank you for taking the time to research my ancestors. I sincerely appreciate your effort.

I feel very strongly that your family was from Co. Laois (Queens Co.). If you use this site https://www.swilson.info/sdist.php which is maintained by one of our IRO volunteers, you will see that both Conroy and Delaney were very strong Co. Laois surnames. Almost all Co. Laois RC parishes have records in the 1840s. The one exception is Clonaslee (records start 1849) so I'm wondering if that is their parish.
I very much enjoyed reading the story of Daniel Michael Conroy. Would you consider adding him to our XO Chronicles site? https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database

I have added Daniel Michael Conroy, placing him in County Laois.
I also added John Gilliland to County Down. His bio includes his family.
