Margaret Pender (née Margaret Teresa Doherty) was an Irish author and poet.
The first indigenous Irish film, "O’Neil of the Glen" (1916) was based on her novel of the same name. Writing under pseudonyms, her work usually had Irish nationalistic tones.
She was born of a mixed marriage (Catholic & Presbyterian) and her mother and maternal grandfather, William White were also poets.
