Parents are Patrick Burke and Mary Glenney Burke. Listed with family on ship's list arriving in the United States on 12 November 1847. The family settled in Will Co., Illinois, USA in the 1850's. Patrick fought for the Union Army in the Civil War coming back to Illinois in 1865 after the war ended. He married Catherine Keigher in 1873. (Catherine was the sister of Patrick's brother Richard's wife, Eleanor Keigher). They had 7 children. Patrick worked in the coal mines. He died in a horse & cart accident in 1890. After his death his wife & children moved to St. Paul, MN, where Catherine's brother lived. She died there in 1913.
