Eileen Elizabeth Pearson (Nana as she was known) was my great-grandmother.
She was the daughter of William L Pearson and Agnes Louise Kirkwood Pearson. Both her parents were born in Ireland and immigrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she was born (I have confirmed that William was born in Co. Donegal and, while I have confirmed Agnes was born in Ireland and suspect that she was born in Co. Donegal, I do not have official confirmation of Donegal as her birth county).
William owned a grocery in Philadelphia and appeared to be successful with it.
Nana married Wilfrid Austin of Dalton, Lancashire, England and, after the birth of my grandmother, Beatrice Elizabeth Austin, the family moved to Wilmington, Delaware. After the death of Wilfrid, Nana lived with my grandmother until Nana died in 1973.
My father remembers her well and my mother was able to meet her on several occasions as well. Unfortunately, Nana died only four years before I was born.
