I am descended from a John Quigley who was married in Canada in 1851. The marriage record from Buckingham, Québec, indicates that he came from County Limerick. Canadian census data indicates that he was probably born in 1818 in county Limerick. The location is difficult to read, but it looks like Abington? He married a Margaret Carroll, also from County Limerick. We estimate her date of birth as 1829. They were both Roman Catholic. Just discovered portraits of each of them and can attach. Although married in Buckingham, they lived their married life just west of Cumberland Village, Ontario. The road along their property line is named Quigley Road after them. They had thre daughters in Cumberland Township. Any link to the Quigley above or to any Irish records before they left for Canada?

My GGGrandmother. Daughter to John and Martha McConnell. She married John Quigley, age 21, at St Anne's Cathedral in Belfast at age 21 in 1867. She was a weaver and lived in Belfast at the time of their marriage. Her father was John McConnell, a miller. John lists his profession as a labourer, and names his father as James Quigley, pork cutter.
John and Sarah had eight children in Belfast, Eliza Quigley Patterson being my Ggrandmother. Their children are Sarah, Eliza, Mary "Minnie", James, John, Martha McKeown, Robert McKeown and Marion Jane "Miriam". John was a Coach Builder for his early career and then became Superintendent of Belfast Tram Company for over 20 years.

Many similar names. Maybe they were related back in Ireland. John Quigley and Margaret Carroll had three daughters in Cumberland, Ontario, Canada: one married a Cameron, one married a Summers and one married a Fitzpatrick. Daughters were Ann, Margaret and Mary in that order.
