Hello fellow brick wall hitter. I have been trying to connect my McShane ancestors of Brooklyn, New York to the McShanes of Killymuck, Kilrea, Derry. My g grandfather was Anthony McShane born about 1840 and married to Margaret Ann Moore born around the same time. His father-in-law was John Moore. Killymuck and Kielygullib are located so close to each other that a spark of interest has ignited! To complicate things I believe Anthony has a sister named Mary Ann McShane. There are so many Margarets, Marys and Anns in this branch of my family. Some of the McShanes ended up in Trenton, New Jersey and San Bernadino, California but none that I know of lived in Carbon County, PA.
Also I have found a John Moore in the 1850 census born about 1820, a tailor, who was married to Mary(Ann) Moore b. 1823in England and lived in Brooklyn. They had a daughter Mary Ann Moore. This John Moore died in 1872 in Brooklyn of Dysentery. I don't think this is my John Moore but may interest you.
